Antonio Santos del Valle

1990 - 1992 Development, management and promotion of Expo'92, and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Barcelona Olympic Games (1992).

1993. Coordinates the Manuel de Falla International Course of the Granada International Music and Dance Festival, and begins his academic and professional activity in Spain and in numerous Latin American countries. 

Currently, he is an external advisor to the Quality Commission of the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism of the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain).

1994 - 1996. Advisor to Minister Carmen Alborch Bataller on cultural issues, heritage and cultural tourism.

1995 - 2006. Participates in the programme 'Plataforma Iberoamericana de Cooperación', mainly in Latin American countries and in some European and Arab countries, combining this with participation in studies and development of tourism and cultural policy plans, institutional relations, etc.

2006 - 2009. Directs the tourist and cultural project called 'Madrid Sur', inaugurating the Ulpiano Checa Museum (Colmenar de Oreja), and the exhibition at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando (Madrid).

2009 - 2019. Management of the tourism and IR department of the company Innova TaxFree Group.

2010 - 2022. Member of the Board of the Affiliate Members Programme of the World Tourism Organization, and of the UNWTO Panel of Experts.

Other institutions: World Tourism Cities Federation, European Expert Group of the 'Premium & Prestige Business Observatory'; 'Wine Tourism Project' of the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, etc.

2016. Dr. Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (United Nations Agency), appoints him as coordinator of the Global Shopping Tourism Network (www.worldshoppingtourism.com), a position renewed by the current Secretary General, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili. The Global Network is managed by Global Journey Consulting (UNWTO Affiliate Member).

2018. In support of UNWTO, coordinates the 'Tourism Passport Working Group', resulting in the 'Trabitat' tool, developed by Wanderlust P.

2021. Chief advisor of the scientific committee of the World Tourism Summit (Barcelona - Spain, 26 - 27/10/2021, and the I Glocal Forum on Tourism and Economic Development (Cordoba - Argentina 2 and 3/06/2021), in the framework of the 'V World Forum on Local Economic Development'.

Since May 2022 he is president of the Tourism and Society Think Tank.
