Thelma L. Gómez Román
Thelma Leonor Gómez Román is a Colombian executive with more than twenty-five years of experience in the tourism, hospitality, and business association sectors. She currently serves as Director of Tourism, Casa Fenalco, and Protocol Affairs at FENALCO, where she leads national tourism strategies, institutional relations, and public-private collaboration initiatives aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Colombia’s tourism industry.
A specialist in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, destination promotion, and tourism business development, she has held senior leadership positions in leading organizations such as COTELCO, Estelar Hotel Chain, and Plataforma AV. She also represented Colombia at major international events, including Expo Yeosu 2012 in South Korea. Throughout her career, she has coordinated international programs, large-scale events, and strategic partnerships across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
She has completed specialized training in MICE tourism, marketing, customer service, and tourism management, complemented by executive programs at internationally recognized institutions.
She is widely recognized for her leadership, negotiation skills, strategic vision, and extensive expertise in institutional relations, corporate diplomacy, and destination positioning, contributing significantly to the growth and professionalization of Colombia’s tourism sector.
