Augusto Nicolás Aponte Martínez is an Agricultural Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors. He holds a Master's degree in Public Management and Administration from the Centro de Altos Estudios Nacionales (CAEN). His career focuses on rural development, business organizational strengthening, and the implementation of public projects and policies, with a special focus on the cocoa sector.
In the public sector, he has held important positions in the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, such as Head of the Monitoring Unit of the AGROIDEAS Program, General Director of Agricultural Development and Agroecology, and other management roles in areas of natural resources and promotion of agricultural competitiveness. In addition, he was Technical Secretary at the National Commission for Development and Life Without Drugs (DEVIDA), where he managed projects in the Valley of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM).
In the private sector, he directed the NGO PROGRESO and was an advisor at the Peruvian Association of Cocoa Producers, coordinating key projects. His consulting experience includes evaluations of rural development projects in Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia. His career reflects a deep knowledge and leadership in the agricultural and rural field.
