Voting for the World's Best Tourism Film 2022
The CIFFT "People's Choice Award" competition runs from 1 to 20 October.
The biggest online tourism film competition is back. From 1 to 20 October, the worldwide audience is invited to vote for the World's Best Tourism Film at www.cifft.com/cast-your-vote . In its fifth consecutive edition, the CIFFT "People's Choice" Award features 49 videos from 22 countries.
Participants include tourism films from Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Fiji, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan, and Uganda.
The initiative of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) aims to encourage the public to discover new tourism experiences through video and to vote for their favourites.
In the last edition, the Portuguese production "Heart and Soul", produced by Lobby Films and Advertising for the Historical Villages of Portugal, was voted Best Tourism Film of the World by the People's Vote, after having obtained 8133 votes from 47 countries.
"Winning this high-level competition of worldwide recognition and compared to the Tourism Oscars, makes me deeply happy and with a sense of achievement. The award attests to the technical and creative quality of the film, among others with great quality, presenting the soul of these 12 villages to the world," said Telmo Martins, CEO and Director of Lobby Films and Advertising.
For Alexander V. Kammel, CIFFT Director, "The films participating in the CIFFT "People's Choice" Award are a sample of the most creative and innovative in tourism promotion today. It is very nice to follow their evolution every year and to be able to award the best ones with the help of the public," he said.
Nowadays, video plays a central role in most brands' efforts. The CIFFT "People's Choice" Award draws attention to the potential of this format to promote tourism experiences in an authentic and engaging way.
The 49 videos also participate in the CIFFT Circuit, a global tourism film competition endorsed by the World Tourism Organization and the European Travel Commission, among other institutions.
