• Sacrum has the special collaboration of the World Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations Network (WRSTDN), a program of the Tourism and Society Think Tank.

• The event will be held at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de la Costa del Sol in the city of Torremolinos (Malaga - Spain) from October 25 to 27.

For several days the city of Torremolinos (Malaga - Spain) will become the epicenter of an event that brings together the best of religious and cultural tourism worldwide. 

SACRUM EXPO 2024 is presented as a unique platform that promotes dialogue between heritage, tourism and spirituality. Under the slogan “Connecting faith with the future,” the event's main objective is to strengthen cultural identity and heritage conservation through religious tourism, a segment that has proven to be key to the sustainable development of communities.

SACRUM EXPO will be attended by national and international delegations representing government agencies, church organizations, heritage and tourism experts, as well as key players from the private sector, which reinforces the global nature of this event and underscores the importance of religious tourism in the international arena.

This forum will not only be a space for academic debate and spiritual reflection, but will also allow for the exchange of experiences among the world's main religious tourism routes and destinations. Among the fundamental objectives of SACRUM EXPO are the promotion of cooperation between the different actors involved in the promotion of religious tourism and heritage conservation, as well as the creation of new strategic alliances that will boost the economic and social development of the regions involved.

The event will be attended by prominent international representatives, such as Gustavo Riveiro D'Angelo of the Department of Pastoral Tourism of the Spanish Episcopal Conference and Bishop Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of Higuey, Dominican Republic, Father Julio Muñoz, leader of the pastoral ministry of religious tourism of the Archdiocese of Cartagena and rector of the Cathedral, and others. The World Network of Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations will be represented by its director general, Ms. Pilar Valdés Arroyo, and authorities from countries such as Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Egypt, who will share their perspectives on the role of religious tourism today and the challenges communities face in keeping their cultural and spiritual identity alive. 

One of the most anticipated moments of the event will be the opening ceremony, which will be attended by prominent political and religious authorities, who will highlight the relevance of spirituality in promoting understanding and peace among nations.

The event will also offer an exhibition area where attendees will be able to learn about the proposals of the world's main religious tourism destinations.
