(Spain) Sacrum Expo EXPO 2024. A meeting that fuses tourism, heritage and spirituality
22-10-24
Sacrum has the special collaboration of the World Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations Network (WRSTDN), a program of the Tourism and Society Think Tank.
The event will be held at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de la Costa del Sol in the city of Torremolinos (Malaga - Spain) from October 25 to 27.
For several days the city of Torremolinos (Malaga - Spain) will become the epicenter of an event that brings together the best of religious and cultural tourism worldwide.
SACRUM EXPO 2024 is presented as a unique platform that promotes dialogue between heritage, tourism and spirituality. Under the slogan “Connecting faith with the future,” the event's main objective is to strengthen cultural identity and heritage conservation through religious tourism, a segment that has proven to be key to the sustainable development of communities.
SACRUM EXPO will be attended by national and international delegations representing government agencies, church organizations, heritage and tourism experts, as well as key players from the private sector, which reinforces the global nature of this event and underscores the importance of religious tourism in the international arena.
This forum will not only be a space for academic debate and spiritual reflection, but will also allow for the exchange of experiences among the world's main religious tourism routes and destinations. Among the fundamental objectives of SACRUM EXPO are the promotion of cooperation between the different actors involved in the promotion of religious tourism and heritage conservation, as well as the creation of new strategic alliances that will boost the economic and social development of the regions involved.
The SACRUM EXPO program will include a series of conferences, round tables and presentations by internationally renowned experts. Among the topics to be addressed are the preservation of religious heritage, the impact of spiritual tourism on local development and new trends in the promotion of sacred destinations.
The event will be attended by prominent international representatives, such as Gustavo Riveiro D'Angelo of the Department of Pastoral Tourism of the Spanish Episcopal Conference and Bishop Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of Higuey, Dominican Republic, Father Julio Muñoz, leader of the pastoral ministry of religious tourism of the Archdiocese of Cartagena and rector of the Cathedral, and others. The World Network of Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations will be represented by its director general, Ms. Pilar Valdés Arroyo, and authorities from countries such as Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Egypt, who will share their perspectives on the role of religious tourism today and the challenges communities face in keeping their cultural and spiritual identity alive.
One of the most anticipated moments of the event will be the opening ceremony, which will be attended by prominent political and religious authorities, who will highlight the relevance of spirituality in promoting understanding and peace among nations.
The event will also offer an exhibition area where attendees will be able to learn about the proposals of the world's main religious tourism destinations. This area will become a meeting point for tour operators, destination representatives and companies specialized in the sector, who will be able to establish contacts and generate new business opportunities.
SACRUM EXPO not only seeks to be a showcase for the promotion of religious tourism, but also a space for reflection on the role of spirituality in human and social development. In an increasingly globalized and technified world, religious tourism stands as a fundamental tool to connect people with their roots and promote understanding between cultures and religions.
In this sense, the event will place special emphasis on the role of young people and new generations as heirs and guardians of this spiritual legacy. Through different activities, such as workshops and seminars, the event will seek to encourage young people's interest in the preservation of religious heritage and their active participation in the promotion of this type of tourism.
One of the great attractions of SACRUM EXPO 2024 is its ability to attract actors from all over the world, committed to the promotion of religious destinations and the strengthening of international cooperation in this field. This event will be a unique opportunity to strengthen relations between countries and regions that see religious tourism as a driver of sustainable development and a catalyst for peace and intercultural understanding.
The forum will also serve as a space for emerging destinations to learn from the experiences of those that have already consolidated their place in the global religious tourism market. In this way, SACRUM EXPO will contribute to the dissemination of best practices and the strengthening of local capacities for the management and promotion of spiritual tourism.
The important collaboration of the World Religious Tourism Destinations Global Network
Within the framework of SACRUM EXPO 2024, one of the key players is the World Religious Tourism Destinations Network, a program of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, led by Pilar Valdés.
Thanks to the Network's collaboration, SACRUM EXPO will feature the participation of leading experts in religious tourism, who will share their knowledge and experiences on the preservation of religious heritage and the promotion of sacred destinations. In addition, the Global Network of Religious Tourism Destinations has been instrumental in the organization of this event, promoting the creation of strategic alliances between participating destinations and facilitating dialogue between public and private actors. Undoubtedly, their participation reinforces the international projection of SACRUM EXPO and ensures a lasting legacy for future editions.
