Santa Marta (Colombia) celebrates the l International Congress of Experiential Tourism organized by Fenalco

Santa Marta is hosting the First International Congress of Experiential Tourism, EXPO-EXPERIENCIAS “TOURISM FOR A CULTURE OF PEACE”, a project led by FENALCO Nacional, presided by Jaime Alberto Cabal Sanclemente, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the National Tourism Fund FONTUR and UN Tourism.
The event takes place from Thursday, November 28 to Friday, November 29 at the Hilton Santa Marta Hotel, located in the area of Pozos Colorados. During these days, experience tourism is the main protagonist, consolidating Santa Marta as a key destination in the national tourism strategy.
Under the slogan “Tourism for a Culture of Peace,” the congress promotes capacity building in Colombia's tourist destinations, with special emphasis on Santa Marta, and focuses on topics such as international trends, quality and sustainable tourism. This valuable business space is being made possible thanks to the support of the Santa Marta District Mayor's Office, the District Tourism Institute INDETUR, the Santa Marta Chamber of Commerce for Magdalena, the Tourism Cluster, the Family Compensation Fund CAJAMAG and the University of Magdalena.
The event will be attended by a group of international experts, including Antonio Santos del Valle, president of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, who, in addition to participating in the academic agenda, will carry out a social agenda that will allow them to learn about outstanding experiences in the destination. Hotels, restaurants and travel agencies are collaborating to position the city as a destination with high growth potential in the region.
The program includes conferences, panels and interactive activities focused on topics such as sustainable tourism, the management of quality tourism experiences, the role of communities in tourism development and the importance of tourism in the preservation of peace. The event will be attended by experts, authorities, tour operators, academics and entrepreneurs in the sector, who will highlight the relevance of the city in Colombia's tourism industry.
With this successful congress, Santa Marta reaffirms its position as a strategic and visionary destination in the development of experiential tourism, marking a milestone for the industry in the country.
