Without having completed the Mayan Train, Mexico is already thinking about a railroad for the Baja California peninsula.
The Mayan Train, in the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico), has not yet been fully inaugurated and the President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, is already thinking about the next big project: another train, but connecting the entire peninsula of Baja California, which includes the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur, with destinations such as Los Cabos, Ensenada and La Paz.
According to Radio Fórmula, the new railroad line will be 750 kilometers long, more than the Tren Maya, and will cost 140 billion pesos. According to what was explained by the federal deputy for Baja California Sur Alfredo Porras, the works will last four years.
Likewise, the idea is that this railroad, which will be called the Transpeninsular Train, will connect with the United States railroad network.
The peninsula is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as hiking, mountain biking, surfing and diving, as well as sport fishing, which is especially popular in this region. One of the most impressive natural events is whale watching, which attracts visitors from all over the world.
