Fernando Molina and José Maria Chiquillo to coordinate the International Network of Intelligent Routes (RTI) to be presented at FITUR
The appointment of Fernando Molina as president of this new International Network of Intelligent Tourist Routes will be ratified on Friday, January 26 at Fitur along with the appointment of José Maria Chiquillo, as vice president of the same.
His active participation coordinating the Working Group of Science, Innovation and Tourist Intelligence of the TTS, and the support of its President, Mr. Antonio Santos del Valle, together with the five years in the presidency of the Instituto Seda España, allowed last November in the Forum of Lima (Peru) to consolidate this global tourism initiative.
The Tourist Think Tank Society -TTTS is a tourism organization with a global and independent vision that shares solutions for future governance, promotes the competitiveness of tourism companies and scientific entrepreneurship with new start-ups. Its priority is to disseminate new tools and courses for the digital transformation and sustainability of Smart Destinations and Routes. It currently has more than 140,000 members in 87 countries.
Spain has developed major consolidated national Routes such as the Camino de Santiago, the Wine Routes, the Camino del Cid, the Route of the Holy Grail, among others, and some transnational ones such as the Silk Road or even the Spanish Way of the Thirds.
The themes of the itineraries unite territorial nodes of different regions and even countries, providing an opportunity for coopetitive approaches where tourist destinations collaborate and compete at the same time.
"The challenge of sharing data and indicators as an opportunity to offer positive experiences for the local community, the territory and its landscapes. The creativity of how to involve tourists to minimize their negative impact, such as, for example, the creative bioseda network that proposes to the municipalities to plant mulberry trees for environmental education and to compensate the C02 of tourist activity", Molina emphasizes.
Chiquillo's capacity for institutional relations and his position as honorary consul for Uzbekistan make him the necessary collaborator and vice-president to bring the different countries closer to the RTI NETWORK,
From the local to the global market is the lesson learned in these five years of the creative Bioseda Network where experiences, such as the planting of mulberry meadows or silkworm breeding, puts small rural municipalities with large tour operators from distant markets such as China or Japan.
Assuming this presidency, says Dr. Molina, has a very important strategic, operational and technical component, since it is managed from a "technical office" that must respond to:
Digital solutions for the members of each managing entity.
Sharing data and improving data quality.
Have Lab that measure the impacts of the experiences and the digital maturity of the destinations.
Improve interaction with digital tourists with the points of interest to visit.
Listen to their comments on social networks.
Generate spaces for the participation of residents and tourists.
All these technical challenges force us to incorporate the latest digital solutions and improve the skills of tourism professionals.
This past Monday in Valencia at the event organized by Turismo Valencia at the Fair, it was clear the importance that will play the thematic routes, the creative Bioseda Network, the Holy Grail, the Route of Jaume I to collaborate actively in promoting the message "Mediterranean and sustainable attitude" around the world.
Next Friday 26th at the Stand of the Valencian Community in Fitur and thanks to the support of Turisme Comunidad Valenciana, will be presented the operational work of each country of the RTI NETWORK and the initial configuration of the managing body and the technical office.
Among the items on the agenda is confirmed the intention of the new president, that the International headquarters will be shared initially with the Instituto Seda España in the province of Valencia.
