With this successful launch, the World Cocoa and Cocoa Derivatives Tourism Destinations Network positions itself as an international benchmark in the promotion of cocoa culture, promising a bright future for tourism destinations, cocoa producers and cocoa aficionados around the world.

The World Cocoa and Cocoa Derivatives Tourism Destinations Network, led by the Tourism and Society Think Tank, emerges as a vanguard in sustainable and educational cocoa-focused tourism. This initiative, gestated over 2023, proposes a holistic vision that ranges from promoting responsible agricultural practices to immersion in the rich cocoa culture. With a focus on education, support for producing communities and the creation of unforgettable gastronomic experiences, the network seeks to transform cocoa tourism, extending its benefits beyond tasting.

This project highlights the historical and economic importance of cacao, and emphasizes its social and environmental impact, educating visitors about the production process, from cultivation to chocolate making. It integrates the traditions and heritage associated with cocoa into a tourism offer that promotes local development and the well-being of the communities, offering tourists a unique opportunity to understand and participate in the cocoa life cycle.

By supporting local communities, the network fosters tourism that contributes to the economic development of the producing areas, generating new income opportunities and promoting sustainability. In addition, the gastronomic experiences designed allow visitors to explore the diversity of cocoa and chocolate, participating in workshops and tastings that reveal the complexity of these products.
