20-04-24
The meeting between the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, and representatives of the tourism sector, held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, represents a significant step in the collaboration between the government and the tourism industry to face the challenges of the low season. On this occasion, concrete strategies were discussed and formulated to attract more visitors and stimulate local tourism consumption.
The Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli, reiterated the importance of a strategic collaboration between the public and private sectors. He emphasized that the previously proposed rate adjustment not only seeks to cope with off-peak seasons, but also to adapt the tourist offer to the new market demands and to the economic capacity of potential tourists.
The "Argentina Emerges Program", launched during the meeting, focuses on several key areas:
Promotions in Transportation: With discounts of up to 30% on long distance tickets, the aim is to facilitate access to different points of the country, encouraging domestic tourism during periods of lower demand such as winter vacations.
Accessible Lodging: The 20% reductions in hotel rates seek to make lodging more accessible, allowing more families and groups to travel and stay for longer periods.
Flexible Financing: Tour packages are offered with bank financing options, allowing travelers to better manage their travel expenses without compromising their personal finances.
Special Promotions: The "7x6" offer on ski resort passes is an example of how tourism in specific areas is encouraged by providing an extra day at no additional cost.
This set of measures is complemented by a series of promotional and positioning campaigns designed to increase the visibility of Argentine tourist destinations both domestically and internationally. These campaigns will include promotional material, participation in global tourism fairs and collaborations with influencers and specialized travel media.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to continue working together and to evaluate the impact of these initiatives on a regular basis. This joint effort between the government and the private sector reflects a clear understanding of the strategic importance of tourism as a driver of economic and social development in Argentina.
