The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) will hold for the first time its global summit in Africa (Rwanda), where the leaders of the sector will rethink the projections of this activity and analyze its challenges. Under the theme 'Building Bridges to a Sustainable Future', the 23rd WTTC Global Summit will be held from November 1-3.

Julia Simpson, president and CEO of WTTC, said: "This global summit is a call for leaders, innovators and agents of change from all corners of the globe to come together and craft a new vision for the Sector. It is a unique platform to showcase the shaping of a Sector that is not only defined by its resilience, but also by its commitment to the principles of sustainability and inclusion.

Importance of the Sector.

"Africa has the youngest population in the world and, by 2033, one out of every 13 dollars created on the continent will come from the Tourism Sector; furthermore, one out of every 17 jobs will come from this industry. This demonstrates the enormous potential for the sector in this region to create new jobs and new economic growth for young people in Rwanda and across Africa," said Julia Simpson.

With sessions on resilience and sustainable growth, the growing impact of AI and understanding new and emerging markets, the global summit is set to cover the key challenges and opportunities facing the Sector.
