In an increasingly digitized world, the travel industry is not far behind. Tripadvisor's recent artificial intelligence (AI)-based update for travel planning is a clear example of how technology is revolutionizing the industry.

According to Matt Goldberg, CEO of Tripadvisor, the AI-assisted travel planning tool Generative AI has shown significantly higher conversions and revenue generation. During the first three months in beta, members who created itineraries returned at a much higher rate in the first seven days compared to those who did not. In addition, these members generate on average three times more revenue than the average Tripadvisor member.

Tripadvisor is using AI for a variety of functions - from content creation to review summarization to customer service. For example, in popular cities such as New York and Paris, fresh and relevant content is being curated that has increased user interactions by 15%. In addition, AI is being used to provide clear summaries of reviews, offering valuable insights into key aspects of hotels, such as noise levels.
