ICTE, UNE and AEE present at FENAVIN the world standard for visits to wineries

The Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE), the Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, and the Spanish Association of Wine Tourism (AEE) have presented at the National Wine Fair the new UNE-ISO 13810:2023 Tourism and related services. Visits to industrial, natural, cultural and historical sites. 

The standard includes a series of requirements aimed at improving the experience and satisfaction of tourists in this type of visit, as well as the quality of the services provided by the establishments.  

The Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE), together with the Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, and the Spanish Association of Wine Tourism (AEE) have presented today during the celebration of the National Wine Fair (FENAVIN), the new UNE-ISO 13810:2023 Tourism and Related Services Standard. Visits to industrial, natural, cultural and historical sites. This is a standard developed to guarantee the quality and satisfaction of tourists in this type of tourist visits, including wineries. 

During the presentation, José Antonio Vidal, President of the AEE, first spoke about the important role and relevance of wine tourism in Spain and the world, as well as the need for a standard and a guide to guarantee quality in this type of spaces. Paloma García, Director of Standardisation and Interest Groups at UNE, then underlined the role of standardisation in the tourism services sector, as well as highlighting that this new standard, approved by the ISO/TC 228 Committee, made up of more than 100 countries, is a common reference for wine tourism. 

Fernando Fraile, Director General of the ICTE, pointed out the important role of the ICTE and its certification with the Q Mark as a differentiating element for organisations that are committed to guaranteed quality. Finally, Noelia Santos, ICTE training manager, presented the most important aspects of the new standard, as well as its purpose and specific scope, structure and requirements. In short, those attending this conference had the opportunity to learn about the new version of this standard and its most relevant aspects from experts in wine tourism, standardisation, quality and certification.
