These were the destinations with the highest hotel revenues in 2022

A new report presented by STR showed that Miami and Qatar were the two tourism destinations that led the recovery in terms of hotel earnings during 2022.
Gross operating profit per available room (GOPPAR) in both markets exceeded 2019 levels, with the metric reaching 155% of the 2019 comparable in Miami. In addition, with the help of the World Cup, Qatar's GOPPAR index stood at 152%.
Europe
Paris (US$173.02) was 123% of its 2019 comparable level. London(US$105.17) was the next closest market at 88%. Berlin (US$34.67) recovered only 60% of 2019 GOPPAR..
Middle East
While Qatar led in terms of recovery, Dubai had a higher GOPPAR level (USD 132.68) and ranked second in terms of recovery at 140%. Oman, while improving year on year, showed the lowest recovery at 78% of the comparable pre-pandemic level.
Asia Pacific
New Delhi (US$ 51.00) was the only major APAC market to achieve 100% of its pre-pandemic comparable. Singapore (US$ 83.57) and Bali (US$ 49.37) accounted for 87% and 81% of 2019 comparables, respectively.
North America
Behind Miami was Toronto, where the GOPPAR level (US$ 88.03) reached 100 % of the 2019 comparable. San Francisco's GOPPAR (US$50.86) was the furthest away from its pre-pandemic comparable at 41%.
South America
Bogota reached US$36.83, which was 106% of the pre-pandemic comparable. Rio de Janeiro (US$17.17) saw the next highest GOPPAR comparison (71%). Lima (US$5.74) was only 14% of the 2019 comparable.
