18-08-23

Antonio Santos, president of the Tourism and Society Think Tank and Santiago Cano, president of the international consultancy EMPRESUR have sealed the collaboration agreement with the aim of integrating technological innovation in tourist destinations, offering consultancy and advisory services to tourist destinations, companies and institutions, local promoters/destinations, etc., promotion at events, congresses, etc.

In the field of innovation, this important agreement will allow to promote the application (app and web) called Credenciales Religiosa Digital, developed by the company Camino Aplicación to implement it in all those tourist destinations in America and Europe.

The implementation of the Digital Religious Credential application (web and app) in the destinations allows the promotion of these, as well as offering important digital services to pilgrims, tourists and believers in general.

Likewise, the app allows the certification of pilgrims and believers who participate in pilgrimage routes and pilgrimage routes, and visits to religious shrines.

The Digital Religious Credential application (web and app) has been developed by the company Camino Credencial at the proposal of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago, and has meant the beginning of a new way of management in religious destinations.

Among the objectives to be achieved with the implementation of this app is the preservation of the values of each pilgrimage, the coexistence with the paper credential if it already exists in tourist destinations, not replace it; and contribute to the sustainability of organizations. Similarly, new content, souvenirs, services, certificates, etc. are incorporated, which allows the pilgrim to have access to updated information.

Religious tourism refers to a type of tourism whose main motivation is the search for spiritual experiences and the visit to places of religious significance. Travellers who engage in religious tourism seek to connect with their faith, learn about religious and cultural traditions, and experience a sense of peace and reflection.

Religious tourism is not limited only to practitioners of a particular religion. People interested in art, architecture, history or cultural traditions can also enjoy religious tourism because of the valuable heritage and artistic beauty that religious sites often present.

Religious tourism can be a meaningful and enriching experience for those seeking to deepen their spiritual and cultural understanding.
