The Ibero-American Forum of Tourism Journalists (FIPETUR), made up of the main specialised press associations of Latin America and Spain, will meet from 28 to 31 August in Uruguay, where it will hold its elective general assembly and issue a declaration of commitment to the promotion of sustainable tourism development.

The meeting, convened by the Executive Committee of FIPETUR, is organised by the Circle of Tourism Journalists of Uruguay (CIPETUR), with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay, departmental governments, various public and private institutions, as well as leading companies in the sector.

He explained that the convening of the general assembly and the related programme was validated by the FIPETUR Board of Directors, which gave a vote of confidence and recognition to its first vice-president and president of CIPETUR, María Shaw, for the remarkable effort made to carry out the meeting in Uruguay.
