This year, voting began on March 23 and ends on the 30th. Initially, the competition received a total of 64 nominations from hotels that were divided into four regional groups: Latin America and the Caribbean; North America; Asia, Indian Ocean, and South Pacific; and Europe, Middle East, and Africa. 

According to the website, the competition is now in the "elite eight," where eight hotels such as the Tivoli Mofarrej São Paulo Hotel, Thompson Central Park New York, and the Wildwaters Lodge Uganda are being evaluated by the website's readers.
