Peru: record attendance at the II National and International Tourism Fair

The president of the Peruvian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (APAVIT), Ricardo Acosta announced that 110 companies linked to the tourism sector will participate in the II National and International Tourism Fair to be inaugurated tomorrow Thursday, September 22nd at the Patriotic Sanctuary of Lima, Reducto #2 in Miraflores, and which will last until Friday, September 23rd.

"The expectation is enormous and he estimated that, at the end of this event, we should double the business commitments made in the first edition," said the business leader.

In this regard, he estimated that some US$ 600 thousand dollars in business commitments between participating companies and local and international buyers.

Among the foreign companies that have confirmed their presence are Brazil, Bolivia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Spain, Canada, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica, Romania and Ecuador.

Different companies and regional governments from the interior of the country will also participate, offering the best of their products to the Lima business community and the general public.

The exhibiting companies belong to the fields of travel agencies, national and international airlines, as well as hotels, tour operators, wholesalers, restaurants, regional governments, handicrafts and embassies.

About the seminar to be held during the fair, the head of APAVIT said that the topics to be discussed are related to the panorama of cruise ships, the potential of hotels on the northern beaches, the importance of museums and how to organise your trips, among others.

The II National and International Tourism Fair will be inaugurated by the Vice-Minister of Tourism, Isabel Álvarez, who will be accompanied by the Mayor of Miraflores, Luis Molina, as well as political and business personalities linked to tourism.
